Workshop descriptions

1) Swingout technique
Date: 18th of July
Teachers: Eiki & Miranda
Time: 19.00-21.00
Price: 190kr

There is no move like it in Lindy Hop. When it really works, the flow and dynamics of it feels exciting and thrilling. When it doesn't it can fail catastrophically.
In this workshop we will do a quality check on your swingouts. We will take you through the basics and make sure you are nailing them and work on all the tricky technique that goes into making a sweet swingout.

Level: You have actively danced at least the past 6 months and you are already familiar with the swingout.

2) Doin’ the Jive
Date: 20th of July
Time: 19.00-21.00
Teacher: Isak
Price: 190kr

Learn the cool solo jazz routine: Doin' The Jive!
This routine is well know all over the Lindy World and is one of the classics in the modern Lindy scene.
This routine was choreographed by Kelly Porter, Joshua Welter and Michael Faltesek, to the song “Doin’ the Jive” by the Careless Lovers.
You can be as expressive as you want with this fun 'call & response' routine; the lyrics of the song will tell you what to do but you decide how to do it!

Level: you have some experience with solo jazz (you have taken some solo jazz classes and are probably familiar with some of the famous jazz routines, e.g. Shim Sham, Tranky Doo, Big Apple etc.)
