Themes in Round 2, 2026 (March-April):

Lindy Hop 6 Tuesday with Gosia & Libor – “From Footage to Floor”
In this course, we dive into original Lindy Hop clips from the 1930s and 1940s and bring their energy, rhythm, and style into our dancing today.

We will explore how the dancers from the early swing era used musicality, improvisation, and personal expression, which were at the heart of their dancing. We will then translate those elements into material you can actually use on the floor, so that you can also develop your own voice within the rhythm.

Lindy Hop is a Black American dance, and understanding that cultural context helps us approach the dance with greater awareness and care. Alongside the movement itself, we’ll reflect on the roots of Lindy Hop, its social history, and the legacy of the dancers who shaped it.

Let’s turn inspiration into movement – from footage to floor.

Lindy Hop 6 Wednesday with Madison & Kuno – “Rhythm is Our Business”
(Title inspired by the Jimmie Lunceford classic)

Rhythm lies at the heart of Lindy Hop. In this course, we’ll strengthen your foundation by working with core rhythms, then build on them with more complex variations you can bring straight onto the social floor.

You’ll practice keeping strong, clear rhythm in your basic steps, explore new individual rhythms to enrich your dancing, and learn rhythm-based moves that can be both led and followed. Along the way, we’ll inspire you to play, experiment, and create your own rhythms — so you can add more personality and musicality to your Lindy Hop.

Lindy Hop 6 with Alexander & Mokhtar – “Learn the other role”

Learn to dance as both leader and follower. In this course you will learn the other side of the equation and get a better understanding of the dance as a whole. You will also find that learning the other role makes you even better at your primary role because you get to experience the dance from the other side.

The course is for people who can already dance as leader or follower and who wants to learn the other role. This means the course will progress very quickly, since rhythm and connection techniques are already familiar to everyone participating. You will also learn about switching roles in the middle of a dance!

Description

Lindy Hop 7 is a class for experienced dancers, where we focus mainly on technique and  quality of the dance. The content of this course is partly shaped by the students. At the  beginning of each round the teachers ask the students what techniques and moves they  would like to work on, and they incorporate the wishes into the course material.

Level guidance

We recommend taking at least two rounds of classes on Lindy Hop 6 before signing up for  Lindy Hop 7. If you come from another school, we recommend that you have at least 12 months of swing dance experience to be able to join this class.
