Swing 2 is a continuation from the Swing 1 course (Beginners Course). We will keep on working on the basic moves and techniques, and we will introduce a new type of footwork: the 8 count. The main focus of this course will be on learning the famous Swingout. We will also teach you how to switch between 6-count and 8-count moves in both groove-walk and triple step rhythm, and how to integrate them into your dancing. You will also learn the 30s Charleston (the "evolved" version of 20s Charleston, with kicks), and its basic variations, such as Kick-Through and Hand-to-Hand.
You need to complete the Swing 1 course to be able to join this class. If you come from another school, you need to have at least 2 months of swing dance experience to be able to join this class. (e.g. completed level Newcomers in SwingShoes)

Swing 3 is a continuation from the Swing 2 course. We will add more 8 count moves (e.g. Outside Turn), and styling variations (e.g. Swivels). We will introduce fast turns on the spot for both followers and leaders. We will teach you how to do the 6-count moves, which you have previously learned, with the more fast-paced and energetic kick steps. You will also be introduced to Tandem Charleston and its basic variations.
You need to complete the Swing 2 course to be able to join this class. If you come from another school, you need to have at least 4 months of swing dance experience to be able to join this class. (e.g. completed level Beginners A in SwingShoes)

Swing 4 is a continuation from the Swing 3 course. From this level and up, the class material becomes more open and is adjusted to the needs of the class participants. You will learn more swingout variations (e.g. Texas Tommy), more 30s Charleston variations (e.g. S-turn to Tandem Charleston), as well as turns with traveling in both triple step and Groove-Walk rhythm. You will also learn how to spice up your footwork with small variations.

Swing 5 is a continuation from the Swing 4 course. The class material on this level is more open and it is adjusted to the needs of the class participants. You will learn some of the more complex moves, such as: Sugar Push, Sailor Step, Barrel Roll, and Airplane Charleston. The main points of focus will be connection exercises, turning technique and footwork variations.

Swing 6 - Theme is a continuation from the Swing 5 course. It is a course for dancers on an intermediate level, who want to expand their vocabulary of moves and techniques. You are expected to stay on this level for at least a few rounds of classes before moving on to the higher level. To keep the classes fresh and interesting, each round will have a different theme, always with new moves and variations.
Swing 7 is a class for experienced dancers, where we focus mainly on technique and quality of the dance. The content of this course is partly shaped by the students. At the beginning of each round the teachers ask the students what techniques and moves they would like to work on, and they incorporate the wishes into the course material.
You need to complete at least one round of Swing 6 - Theme before moving up to Swing 7. If you are a fast learner, you can try to move up directly after Swing 5.
To ensure a high level in class, all new participants will have to come to Level Placement first, to be accepted to the course. Once you have been accepted, you can continue taking classes on this level in the future rounds as well, without having to come to Level Placement again.
Swing 8 is the highest level in Happy Feet Studio. It is dedicated to experienced and skilled dancers, who want to keep on improving their dancing - the Lindy Hop addicts. You will work on challenging moves and concepts, with a lot of focus on technique.
This is the highest level of classes in Happy Feet Studio. We recommend taking at least two rounds of classes on Swing 7 before signing up for Swing 8.

Level Placement
There will be no Level Placement this round due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, we have the following requirements:
- to join Swing 7, you should be comfortable in all the basic moves like Swingouts, Tandem Charleston, 6-count turns etc. Also, you must have taken at least two rounds of Swing 6 or equivalent.
- to join Swing 8, you should be one of the best students in Swing 7 and have no problem keeping up with the material in Swing 7. Also, you must have taken at least two rounds of Swing 7 or equivalent.
Please note, when at some point we start having Level Placements again, you will have to attend one to be accepted into Level 7 and 8 going forward. For now, you can join these levels should you want to.
New to Lindy Hop?
• From Swing 6 - Theme and up, you are expected to stay at least a few rounds on each level
• On lower levels there are several courses with the same material, just on different days. Choose the one that fits your schedule best
• Feel like you need more repetition? You can take the same level again
• If you have had a break in taking classes for 4 months or more, you must repeat your last level, to ensure that you can follow the classes

You don't need a partner to register. If you register alone we will simply pair you up with another participant. We will also have partner rotation in the classes, so you will get to meet and dance with other people in the class. A nice way to make new friends! COVID-19 update: If you sign up with a partner, then you are welcome to not change partner of course. For everyone else, we will do partner changing in small teams of a few couples. The teams will be set up in the first class and you will have the same team the whole round - no jumping between teams. A little tip though: since this is a partner dance we need to balance the number of leaders and followers ( traditionally leaders are men and followers women. However, in these modern times we welcome anyone to pick whichever role they prefer). We typically have many more followers than leads, so if you choose to be a follower we recommend that you sign-up with a partner to avoid the waiting list. You can also join an intro class to swing dance in Student House on Tuesdays. See more info about it here. We don't offer sign ups for single classes to our weekly classes. We need to make sure that our classes are well balanced, so that there is an equal or almost equal amount of followers and leaders (where leaders are usually men and followers are women). Sign ups for single classes would disrupt our leader-follower balance. Therefore it is only possible to sign up for a full round of classes (7 weeks of classes). If you feel like you have missed out on too many classes, and you are having trouble catching up with the new material, you can: Regarding refunds: Once the course has begun, we do not offer refunds for any missed classes. Friday Parties at Happy Feet Studio Open Practice in Happy Feet Studio Other social dancing opportunities in Copenhagen: • Tuesday Swing Dance • Sunday Swing organized by Swingin' Hepcats • Saturday Extra Training organized by SwingShoes Apart from that there is also plenty of other events and places where you can dance socially and meet other swing dancers.
